The first impression is that this is a cheap, flimsy little comb. However, with use according to the directions with the Toppik powder, it is effective. Quite possibly more effective in some areas than others, but still. And if nothing else, it is a great head scratcher!

My problem is touching up my graying roots. I use L’Oreal Magic Root Touch Up Spray at my temples and where I part my hair, using this Toppix comb works great. Prior to that, I’d use a comb, but the jagged spacing of these teeth work better.My opinion to improve on this product — add a handle so you don’t get whatever product you are using on your fingers and straighten out the curve in this comb, like a hair pick with jagged teeth, that would be a five star product for me!

I use Caboki, not Toppik fibers (because they’re finer) and this hairline optimizer works great. When I put it at my hair line, after shaking on the fibers, I comb it back into my hair with the thing itself, and pat it a little so it doesn’t leave any kind of noticeable line. Glad I got this. Makes my hair look normal again, so much so that I can actually style my hair back from my face with no problem. I just check in a magnifying mirror for any fibers that may be on my forehead or look like too much in the hairline, dust it off and I’m good. I recommend this.

Just a little flexibility is needed to lay against my forehead. While the shape is a little more versatile than I’d feared, I think a pair of concave/convex stencils (or a double-sided combination) would be even better, and still reasonable for the price/quality of the item.

I don’t use it much for it’s intended purpose.. it helps with making cut creases when I apply eyeshadow, or an emergency comb.

You have to know what you’re doing. This doesn’t create a hairline, it prevents the powder from getting in your hairline. The spiky part is good because it goes into your hair, which prevents it from collecting at the base of your hairline (and looking unnatural) but you have to angle it properly. You just use a part of it that follows the hairline. But honestly it’s never been easier to prevent the problem of the powder collecting at the base of my hairline.

The reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 has more to do with applying toppik to the hairline. If you sweat or get stuck out in the rain, the toppik will run a little and its very easy to wipe it (drag it) onto the forehead.

I wrote a lengthy review regarding the Toppik hair fibres (love them) & only really bought the hairline optimiser because it was only $5. I am a female who has always had very fine hair & looked into the Toppik range to see about making my hair look a bit thicker as well as concealing exposed scalp.Although my hairline isn’t a focal point, I found this product to be really beneficial when using the hair fibres as it does really well to help control dispersement of the fibres when applying near the front of your scalp.Once you have had a couple of practice runs, you would never know you were using a “hair filler”, it looks completely natural.In my opinion, for anyone using the Toppik hair fibres, its certainly worth purchasing the “comb” as well.

This does what it’s meant to do pretty well (shields your face from fiber fallout and acts as a stencil to help shape the hairline) but it’s kind of flimsy. While the shape is a little more versatile than I’d feared, I think a pair of concave/convex stencils (or a double-sided combination) would be even better, and still reasonable for the price/quality of the item.

I use Caboki, not Toppik fibers (because they’re finer) and this hairline optimizer works great. When I put it at my hair line, after shaking on the fibers, I comb it back into my hair with the thing itself, and pat it a little so it doesn’t leave any kind of noticeable line. Glad I got this. Makes my hair look normal again, so much so that I can actually style my hair back from my face with no problem. I just check in a magnifying mirror for any fibers that may be on my forehead or look like too much in the hairline, dust it off and I’m good. I recommend this.

I purchased this hairline optimizer to fill in my thinning hairline with spray in temporary hair color.The plastic is too hard. It doesn’t curve at all to press against my head. Just a little flexibility is needed to lay against my forehead. Not good.It is also is very small so you have to lay it in three separate places just to cover the front of your forehead.Also, ithere is not enough room to hold it so when you spray your hair with temporary color the spray gets all over your hands.Not what I expected.

You have to know what you’re doing. This doesn’t create a hairline, it prevents the powder from getting in your hairline. The spiky part is good because it goes into your hair, which prevents it from collecting at the base of your hairline (and looking unnatural) but you have to angle it properly. You just use a part of it that follows the hairline. But honestly it’s never been easier to prevent the problem of the powder collecting at the base of my hairline.

My problem is touching up my graying roots. I use L’Oreal Magic Root Touch Up Spray at my temples and where I part my hair, using this Toppix comb works great. Prior to that, I’d use a comb, but the jagged spacing of these teeth work better.My opinion to improve on this product — add a handle so you don’t get whatever product you are using on your fingers and straighten out the curve in this comb, like a hair pick with jagged teeth, that would be a five star product for me!

I wrote a lengthy review regarding the Toppik hair fibres (love them) & only really bought the hairline optimiser because it was only $5. I am a female who has always had very fine hair & looked into the Toppik range to see about making my hair look a bit thicker as well as concealing exposed scalp.Although my hairline isn’t a focal point, I found this product to be really beneficial when using the hair fibres as it does really well to help control dispersement of the fibres when applying near the front of your scalp.Once you have had a couple of practice runs, you would never know you were using a “hair filler”, it looks completely natural.In my opinion, for anyone using the Toppik hair fibres, its certainly worth purchasing the “comb” as well.

It’s ok for adding more hairline to where it’s needed… But.. honestly I could have the same effect with simply holding a piece of paper over my face and close to my hairline. I don’t use it much for it’s intended purpose.. it helps with making cut creases when I apply eyeshadow, or an emergency comb.

My hair thinned quite a bit due to age and chemo. I use the optimizer to enhance my hairline. The tool works great with the toppik to give a natural hairline. The reason I gave this a 4 instead of a 5 has more to do with applying toppik to the hairline. If you sweat or get stuck out in the rain, the toppik will run a little and its very easy to wipe it (drag it) onto the forehead.
